Terms of Service

Last updated: 24 August 2026

These Terms are the agreement between you and MeetupMoto. By creating an account or using the platform you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use MeetupMoto.

We have kept these Terms as short and readable as we can. The grey summaries are there to help — they are not themselves part of the agreement.

1. About MeetupMoto

In short: we run a free platform where riders find each other and organise rides. We do not run the rides ourselves.

1.1 MeetupMoto is an online community for motorcyclists. Members create profiles, join groups, post content, take part in forums, and organise and attend rides and events.

1.2 MeetupMoto is free to use. We do not charge membership fees or subscriptions, and there is no checkout on this platform. If that ever changes we will say so clearly and in advance, and you will never be charged without agreeing first.

1.3 We are a venue, not an organiser. Groups, rides and events are created and run by members. MeetupMoto does not organise, lead, supervise, inspect or insure any ride or event, and is not a participant in any arrangement members make with each other.

1.4 We may change these Terms. If we do, we will update the date above and publish the new version. For changes that materially affect your rights we will give you reasonable notice. Continuing to use MeetupMoto after a change means you accept it.

2. Your account

In short: you must be 18 or over, keep your login secure, and be honest about who you are.

2.1 You must be at least 18 years old to hold an account. By registering you confirm that you are.

2.2 Provide accurate registration details and keep them current. One person, one account. Do not impersonate anyone, and do not create an account on someone else’s behalf without their permission.

2.3 You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

2.4 You can close your account at any time. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your information when you do.

3. Riding, rides and real-world risk

In short: motorcycling is dangerous, we are not there, and you ride at your own risk. Please read this section properly — it is the most important one here.

3.1 MeetupMoto exists to get riders together in the real world. That means real roads, real traffic and real risk.

3.2 You acknowledge that motorcycling carries an inherent risk of serious injury and death, and that group riding carries additional risks — the pace of others, unfamiliar roads, riders of differing skill, and the pressure to keep up. By using MeetupMoto to find or organise rides, you accept those risks yourself.

3.3 You are responsible for your own safety and your own decisions, including:

  • Holding a valid licence for the machine you ride, with valid insurance and a roadworthy, taxed and tested motorcycle
  • Wearing appropriate protective equipment
  • Riding within your own ability and within the law, whatever the group is doing
  • Deciding whether a ride, route, group or pace is suitable for you — and leaving if it is not
  • Never riding while impaired by alcohol, drugs, medication or fatigue

3.4 Ride your own ride. No group, organiser or post on MeetupMoto overrides your own judgement or the law of the road. Nothing on this platform should be taken as encouragement to ride beyond your ability, exceed speed limits, or ride in a way that endangers you or anyone else.

3.5 Organisers are members like you. We do not vet, train, license, insure or supervise them, and we do not check their routes, plans or competence. An organiser is not our representative and cannot bind us to anything.

3.6 We do not carry out background checks on members, and we do not verify what members say about themselves. Use your judgement when meeting people from the internet, tell someone where you are going, and meet in public places first.

4. Your content

In short: what you post stays yours. You give us permission to display it so the platform can work.

4.1 “Content” means anything you post, upload or send on MeetupMoto — posts, comments, photos, videos, messages, group and event descriptions, and feedback to us.

4.2 You keep ownership of your Content. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, adapt for display, and show your Content for the purpose of operating and promoting MeetupMoto. This licence exists so we can technically run the platform — show your post to your group, generate a thumbnail, include your ride in a listing.

4.3 The licence ends when you delete the Content or your account, except that copies may persist in backups for a period, and Content that others have quoted or replied to may remain in that context.

4.4 By posting, you confirm you have the right to do so — that it is yours or you have permission, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or contain other people’s private information without their consent.

4.5 Public areas of MeetupMoto can be seen by anyone, including search engines. Post accordingly.

5. How to behave

In short: be decent. The detailed rules are in our community policies.

5.1 When using MeetupMoto you also agree to our Usage and Content Policy, our Group and Events Policy and our Organiser Standards. Those documents form part of these Terms.

5.2 You must not:

  • Harass, bully, threaten, stalk or abuse anyone
  • Post content that is hateful, discriminatory, violent or sexually explicit
  • Post anything unlawful, or encourage anyone to break the law — including organising illegal road use, street racing or riding unlicensed or uninsured machines on public roads
  • Spam members, or use the platform mainly to advertise without our agreement
  • Impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your identity or affiliation
  • Post other people’s private information
  • Upload malware, or attempt to break, overload, probe or gain unauthorised access to the platform
  • Scrape or harvest member data by any automated means
  • Use another member’s data for anything other than taking part in MeetupMoto

5.3 If you see something wrong, report it. Safety concerns about a member or a ride can go to [email protected].

6. Moderation, suspension and removal

6.1 We may remove content, or suspend or close an account, where we reasonably believe these Terms or our policies have been broken, or where there is a risk to members or to the platform. Where it is reasonable to do so we will tell you why.

6.2 We do not review content before it is posted and we are not responsible for what members post. We act on what is reported to us or what we find.

6.3 Group organisers and moderators can manage membership and content within their own groups, at their discretion and within these Terms.

6.4 If you think we got a decision wrong, reply to us and we will look again.

7. Advertising and other content on the platform

7.1 We show sponsored posts in the feed. They are marked as such. We measure how they perform — see the Privacy Policy for what that involves.

7.2 An advertisement is not a recommendation. We do not endorse advertisers or their products, and any dealings you have with them are between you and them.

7.3 MeetupMoto links to and embeds third-party content and services. We do not control those and are not responsible for them.

8. Our intellectual property

8.1 The MeetupMoto name, logo, design and software are ours. We grant you a personal, limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the platform as intended. Nothing here gives you ownership of anything of ours.

8.2 Do not copy our branding or hold yourself out as MeetupMoto or as endorsed by us without written permission.

8.3 If you believe content on MeetupMoto infringes your intellectual property, tell us at [email protected] with enough detail to identify the work and where it appears, and we will investigate.

9. The platform is provided as it is

In short: it is a free service, we try hard, but we cannot promise it is perfect or always available.

9.1 MeetupMoto is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, and we may change or discontinue parts of it.

9.2 To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties. We do not warrant the accuracy of member content or that any group, ride or member will meet your expectations.

9.3 Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Subject to that, and to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from member conduct, from anything that happens on or in connection with a ride or event, or from your inability to use the platform.

9.4 Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

10. Indemnity

To the extent the law allows, you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs if a third party brings a claim against us because of your Content, your use of MeetupMoto, your breach of these Terms, or your conduct at a ride or event.

11. Ending this agreement

11.1 You may stop using MeetupMoto and close your account at any time. We may close your account under section 6.

11.2 Sections that by their nature should continue after your account ends do so — in particular section 4.3 (licence tail), section 9 (as-is and liability), section 10 (indemnity), and section 12 (law and disputes).

12. Law and disputes

12.1 If you have a problem with us, please contact us first at [email protected]. Most things are resolved quickly this way.

12.2 These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you may be able to bring proceedings there.

13. General

13.1 These Terms, together with the policies referred to in section 5.1 and our Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement between us.

13.2 If any part is found to be unenforceable, the rest continues to apply.

13.3 If we do not enforce something straight away, we have not given up the right to do so later.

13.4 You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours if MeetupMoto is reorganised or acquired, without reducing your rights.

13.5 Nothing here creates a partnership, agency or employment relationship between us.

13.6 These Terms are written in English, and the English version governs.
