Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic, Connecticut – An important glimpse into the States’ maritime history, the Mystic Seaport Museum is one of the world’s finest nautical museums. It includes a fascinating recreation of an entire 19th-century New England seafaring village and there’s a fantastically preserved fleet of antique ships here too. The star is the Charles W. Morgan: an ancient whaling ship and the world’s oldest surviving trading vessel.
