Korean War Veterans Memorial, Washington DC – A stone’s throw from the famed Lincoln Memorial, on DC’s National Mall, is the Korean War Veterans Memorial, a tribute to the millions of Americans who served in the 1950s conflict. Some 5.8 million Americans fought in the three-year war between North and South Korea, and more than 36,000 of them lost their lives.
