HOUR LONG, DAY LONG, OVERNIGHT RIDES…PUT 'EM HERE WITH RIDE PREFERENCES…

In other words, if you don’t want HotDogs, or Slow Pokes, or Newbies…or friggin people with blue hair, put that in the description, and if you’re one of those folks a person doesn’t ride with, respect that and create your own ride, I’m sure you’ve got people here too…this is about the love of the wind, not antagonizing fellow riders…thanks.

OK here’s the deal…I’m running over the Grand Mesa again tomorrow 5/9/2020. Leaving the Clifton Conoco Stop N Save (the little one on the north side of the road, not the big flashy new thing further west…I’m not big on big, flashy new, if it’s not a bike, and sometimes not even then). I’ll be rolling by between 10:00 and 10:30 AM. Because I’m not even sure there’s any close Coloradans or visitors who can make it on this kind of notice, if I don’t see a bike there, I’ll likely roll on by, so if you plan on making it, get ahold of me by email, or however one does such things on these places…hell, put it in the group’s feed that you wanna come, and I’ll hang out there til 10:30 or so anyway. I’m not gonna wait much later than that because we’re expecting typical Spring late afternoon winds and I’m tired of fighting those F***ers all the way home from Delta. We’ll leave the Conoco and head east on old US6 through Palisade and onto I70 for the short scoot to US65 and over the Mesa, down the other side to Delta then Hwy 50 back to 32 Rd. where everyone can go their own way. So that’s the basic itinerary.

BIKES – I DON’T CARE…as long as it will run highway speeds and is legal to run the highway.

HELMETS – I DON’T CARE…you plays the game, you takes your chances.

HOOLIGANISM – Look, I don’t mind a little showboating, just keep other folks safety in mind! I don’t want some asshole flying by my ear riding a wheelie at 70 per! Bump the throttle, make some noise, laugh, have some fun…DON’T ENDANGER OTHER RIDERS!

EXPERIENCE LEVELS – ALL…if you’re a NOOB or unsure of your cornering ability let me know so I can adjust the pace and keep an eye on you…this is a pretty easy run, even the canyon leading up to the Mesa is not that bad, I usually run it between 40-50 mph most of the way, that’s a pretty relaxing motorcycle pace, but I’ll back it off if I know someone’s concerned about their ability, but I have to know to do that, so tell me!

    HAIR COLOR – Whatever

SKIN COLOR – See hair color.

ROUND TRIP – 130 – 150 Miles depending on what part of Happy Valley you’re coming from.

TOTAL TRIP TIME – approx 2.5 to 3hrs depending on stops.

OK, I’m gonna put some Weather Charts for tomorrow below, so you can check the anticipated ride conditions, green line is wind, yellow is temp, blue is rain and white is clouds…leather jacket probably wouldn’t be too bad an idea on top. If I can think of anything else, I’ll try to add it…OK hope to see someone, or multiples of someones there! If not, I’ll have fun anyway!

    Keep Rollin’…and don’t fall off!

OK I see a problem already…the green line that goes basically straight across compared to the others is the start weather at GJ. The one with the lowest temp line (yellow) is Grand Mesa, the last one is Delta.

Here’s a map, it says to use the app., but seems to work just fine on my computer…

Dang I’m running behind!, too much riding the internet this morning! It’s ok though, I’m getting there…haven’t had any responses, so I’m not too worried, but if anyone’s out there waiting on me, it’ll be pretty much 10:30ish when I show up.

Beautiful day, beautiful ride! Just me by my lonesome out there today, didn’t take any stills, I don’t think, but did take a GoPro that I’m not quite sure how to work…if I got some video and can figure out how to edit it, I’ll post it up sometime…

OK as usual, I’ve been doing everything bass akwards, I’ve got a couple of videos of this very route posted up out on the Main Site page, rather than in here where they ought to be, I’ve got one more section to edit and then I’ll post them all in here where they belong. They aren’t the most polished videos, but they’re fun to make and they show nearly the entire route, so if you’re going to run the Grand Mesa sometime, and you want to familiarize yourself with the route, give them a look, thanks!
