MeetupMoto works because riders look out for each other. These are the rules that keep it that way. They apply everywhere on the platform — posts, comments, forums, groups, events, messages, profiles and media.
Be a real person
- Use an identity that is genuinely yours. Nicknames and road names are fine; pretending to be someone else is not.
- Do not impersonate another member, a club, a brand, or a public figure.
- One person, one account. Do not run second accounts to dodge a ban or stack a vote.
- Be open about commercial interests. If you sell it, service it or sponsor it, say so.
Be decent to each other
Disagreement is fine — riders argue about bikes, that is half the fun. Abuse is not. The following are not allowed:
- Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation or stalking, on the platform or off it
- Hate or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age
- Sexual harassment, unwanted advances, or sexual content involving anyone who has not consented
- Pile-ons and coordinated targeting of a member
- Posting someone’s personal details — address, workplace, phone number, plate — without their consent
- Sharing private messages or photos of someone without permission
Women riders, new riders and returning riders are welcome here. Gatekeeping about what someone rides, how fast they ride it, or how long they have been riding is not the culture we want.
Riding content and the law
This is a motorcycle platform, so we have to be clear about this. Not allowed:
- Organising or promoting street racing, speed runs, or illegal road use
- Content that encourages riding unlicensed, uninsured, or on an untaxed or unroadworthy machine on public roads
- Bragging content whose point is the offence — speedo shots at illegal speeds, wheelies through traffic, riding away from police
- Encouraging anyone to ride impaired by drink, drugs, medication or exhaustion
- Instructions for defeating speed limiters, emissions equipment, or anti-theft systems, or for stealing motorcycles
Track content is different. Riding hard on a closed circuit or a private off-road venue is legitimate and welcome — make it clear that is where it happened.
Crash and near-miss footage is allowed, and can be genuinely useful. Post it to help people learn, mark it clearly, and do not post graphic injury or footage of someone’s death.
Keep it legal and safe generally
- Nothing unlawful, and nothing that helps anyone do something unlawful
- No sexual content involving minors, ever. We report this to the authorities.
- No content glorifying violence, terrorism or self-harm
- No sale of weapons, drugs, stolen goods or stolen parts
- No malware, phishing, or attempts to break or overload the platform
Don’t spam
- Do not post the same thing repeatedly across groups
- Do not message members who have not asked to hear from you in order to sell something
- Do not harvest member details for a mailing list
- Do not use the platform mainly as an advertising channel. If you want to reach riders commercially, talk to us about advertising instead.
Post what is yours
Only post photos, video, music and writing you made or have permission to use. Credit photographers. If you believe your work has been posted without permission, email [email protected].
Reporting and consequences
Report anything that breaks these rules using the report option on the content, or email [email protected] for anything involving safety.
Depending on what happened and whether it has happened before, we may remove content, issue a warning, restrict what an account can do, remove an organiser, or close an account. Serious safety issues and anything involving children skip straight to the end of that list.
